The City of Bartlesville is seeking an organization qualified to operate its Recycle Center after Replenysh, the company that has operated the center since 2021, announced they will end their agreement with the City in April.
The City issued an RFP, or Request for Proposals, this week for organizations who are interested in operating the center to complete and submit to the City by 2 p.m. March 16.
“We were notified recently that our agreement with Replenysh, which has been operating our recycling drop-off center for the past several years, is coming to a close,” Bailey said. “Replenysh was able to operate the center at no cost to the City because they had special contracts with major bottlers and other consumers of recycled material. Those contracts are expiring and, as such, they will be withdrawing from our center.”
Bailey said the company has tentatively agreed to continue operating the center through April, and that it is hoped a new company will have been identified by then to ensure seamless operation of the center.
“We have used this process successfully for other programs, including the maintenance and operation of the Price Fields Sports Complex, so we are hopeful for a similar outcome with this,” he said. “This will allow us to weigh our options and choose the one that best serves our community and is the most cost effective for taxpayers.”
