Sewer project prompts lane closures on Frank Phillips this week

Oct 24, 2017

Traffic is reduced to one lane each way on Frank Phillips Boulevard between Park and Short streets this week to facilitate a sanitary sewer project in the area. The south two lanes of Frank Phillips Boulevard are closed between Park and Short streets. Traffic has been shifted to the north two lanes, allowing one lane of traffic in each direction during this closure.

The lanes are being closed to facilitate sanitary sewer work associated with Phase 4 of the City’s Wastewater Rehabilitation projects.

The projects, which are mandated by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, are addressing infiltration in the city’s sanitary sewer system. Work on these projects has been underway for the past few years.

It is anticipated the road will be closed for at least a week, pending weather conditions.
