The City Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. tonight to discuss items related to the proposed development of 115 acres on Adams Boulevard east of Silver Lake Road, known as Silver Lake Village.
The meeting will be held in the first floor Council Chambers at City Hall, 401 S. Johnstone Ave. in downtown Bartlesville.
On the agenda are several items related to a request to rezone the property from agricultural/single-family residential to general commercial/multi-family residential. Plans for the development include several major retail establishments and, eventually, the construction of high-end apartments.
The development is a project brought forward by the Bartlesville Development Authority. Earlier this month the Tax Increment Finance Review Committee voted to recommend approval of creating a Tax Increment Finance district for the property, as well as surrounding property owned by the City of Bartlesville. A TIF district would capture property taxes generated by the development to help repay funds used to develop the project. The commission will consider recommending approval of the TIF district to the City Council during tonight’s meeting.
The commission will also hold a public hearing in connection with the rezoning request and consider a recommendation regarding rezoning and development plans to the City Council for final approval.
