Transportation forum set for January 30

January 7, 2020

United Community Action Program/Cimarron Public Transit will hold community forums in January related to public transportation for Washington County and other counties within the UCAP service area, Transit Director Laura Corff said recently.

UCAP/CPT operates the City of Bartlesville-funded public transportation system CityRide.

During the forums, input is encouraged from riders, local businesses, municipalities, social service agencies, Tribes, private providers, health facilities, elected officials and the general public to assist in preparing for the future.

Washington County’s forum is set for 11 a.m. to noon on Jan. 30. The meeting will be held at the Bartlesville Public Library, 600 S. Johnstone Ave.

UCAP/CPT seeks comments from citizens regarding transportation needs and issues for consideration in updating the agency’s transportation plan, which will be incorporated into the agency’s annual application for federal funding. Feedback assists staff with a better grasp of challenges and concerns the community has regarding public transit, Corff said.

“Providing a setting to share ideas will help to enrich the ridership experience and create competencies in the program to fulfill the mission to provide safe and reliable public transportation,” she said. “We are dedicated to maintaining open communication to gain valuable insight as well as strengthen community partnerships.”

Those interested in attending may request free transportation to/from the meeting. A limited number of free rides will be available to first callers who schedule 72-hours in advance. Those unable to attend a meeting can submit responses by email to lcorff@ucapinc.org, by fax to 918-762-3041 Ext. 181 or by mail to 501 Sixth Street, Pawnee, OK 74058.
