US 75 bridge rehab underway; lane, trail closures expected

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation recently started work on the Turkey Creek Bridge rehabilitation project, which will result in some lane closures on U.S. Highway 75 between Adams Road and Eastland Shopping Center, City of Bartlesville Director of Engineering Micah Siemers said recently.

“ODOT has started work on their project to rehabilitate the Highway 75 bridge over Turkey Creek, which is located between Adams Road and the Eastland Shopping Center entrance,” Siemers said. “Traffic on Highway 75 will be reduced to one lane in each direction throughout the duration of the project.”

The specific lanes that are open will shift and vary as the project progresses, he said.

The contractor has been allocated 180 calendar days to complete the work, though there are incentives to the contractor to finish early, Siemers said.

“Both ODOT and the contractor, Paradigm Construction, agreed that the project should not take the full duration allocated if work continues as planned and weather allows,” he said.

The project will consist of replacing the deck of the existing bridge and rehabilitation of the bridge structure. The lane closures will “generally be between Adams Road and just north of the Eastland entrance,” Siemers said.

“Access into Eastland and K-mart/Mazzios will be closed to Highway 75 Traffic during the project. The alternate entrances off Frank Phillips will be the point of access into these locations,” he said.

Additionally, the pathfinder trailhead at Eastland Shopping Center will be closed throughout the duration of the project, along with the portion of trail under Highway 75.
