The Water Resources Committee will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the first floor conference room at City Hall, located at 401 S. Johnstone Ave. in Bartlesville.
The committee, established in the early 2000s following the drought of 2001-02, is tasked with exploring potential water supply options and reviewing the effectiveness of the Water Shortage Ordinance and the actions taken over the past several months to preserve water supply. The committee is expected to make recommendations to the council regarding possible modifications to the ordinance.
According to an agenda for the Wednesday meeting, the committee is set to elect a chairman and vice chairman and hear a presentation on the current water supply and previous work of the WRC. The committee will also discuss and take possible action on water supply options.
Bartlesville is currently in Stage 1 of the Water Shortage Ordinance, the City’s drought contingency plan, which calls only for the City to conduct a public awareness campaign.
