Phase 1 construction, which consists of demolition and earthwork, continues this week at the Tower Center at Unity Square site near Sixth Street and Dewey Avenue.
Progress was slowed recently due to rain and muddy conditions, but City crews have been saw-cutting at the site perimeter to ensure remaining concrete and asphalt will not be damaged during removal.
Funding for the community green space project is provided by the voter-approved 2018 General Obligation Bond. Construction is on-track for substantial completion in mid-December.
