Koby Pierce 052616Seven-year-old entrepreneur Koby Pierce is doing his part to help fund the Bartlesville Police Department’s K-9 program.

On Thursday, Pierce donated 10 percent of the profit made from his gumball machine, located in the Painted Horse restaurant in downtown Bartlesville, to the BPD program.

According to Koby’s mother, the young businessman recently saw a media report about the need for two additional K-9s at the police department, due to the impending retirement of current K-9s Apollo and Diesel, and wanted to help.

Pierce met with BPD K-9 officers Troy Newell and Caleb Samson at the police department on Thursday to donate the money, a total of $3.

“We can’t thank this young man enough,” said Police Chief Tom Holland. “It’s citizens like him who truly make a difference in our community.”
