City partners with BPSD on intern program

August 22, 2018

The City of Bartlesville is one of several organizations in the community partnering with the Bartlesville Public School District to assist with BPSD’s Career Exploration Program. The program pairs Bartlesville High School seniors selected for the program with local businesses and organizations to help students learn about and gain introductory experience in their chosen fields.

“We are so pleased to be able to participate in this program,” said Laura Sanders, transitional Human Resources director for the City of Bartlesville. “This is a great opportunity for these students to get hands-on experience in their chosen field and learn from the City staff who work in those fields every day. We’re confident our students are going to learn a lot, not only in their areas of study but also about City government and public service. We’re excited to have them work with us.”

Interns will spend approximately two hours each day working with their department for the duration of the school year. The students will earn credit based on the completion of journals, participation in monthly academic classes, attendance, review of job performance from their department and a final essay or project.

City of Bartlesville interns for the school year are seniors Landry Evans, Haileigh Jenkins, Patrick Harris, Mason Dumonceaux and Zane Reeves.
