Entries sought for Block Party BBQ cookoff

Calling all grill masters and BBQ afficionados! Entries are currently being sought for the upcoming Block Party Cook Off BBQ Contest. The contest, which is part of the annual Block Party hosted by the City’s police, fire and library departments, will be held on April 20 at 300 SE Adams Blvd.

Entry fee for the non-sanctioned “backyard competition” is $20 per team. A five-judge panel will evaluate participants in three categories: Ribs, Chicken and Cook’s Choice. No pre-marinated or pre-cooked meats allowed.

Prizes will be awarded to first through third place in each category, as well as overall Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion.

Further details about the annual Block Party will be announced at a later date.
