City-owned Frontier and Sooner Swimming pools are set to open Saturday, May 28, barring any unforeseen delays.
“The Sooner Pool Expansion Project is still underway, but contract crews are aiming to have the site readied for the pool to open on May 28,” said Director of Engineering Micah Siemers. “Assuming the expansion project continues to go as planned and that there are no problems balancing the chemicals in either of the pools, we are still on-track to open Sooner and Frontier pools on Memorial Day weekend.”
Hours for both pools are noon to 6 p.m. Frontier and Sooner pools are managed by the Richard Kane YMCA. For more information, contact the YMCA at 918.336.0713.
The splash pad in Johnstone Park, located just south of the Kiddie Park, opened last week. Splash pads at Sooner Park and Unity Square are also set to open Memorial Day weekend.
