Public transportation forums set for this month

January 16, 2024

Information provided by UCAP/Cimarron Public Transit System

The United Community Action Program, Inc./Cimarron Public Transit System invites you to participate in shaping the future of public transportation in Creek, Kay, Osage, Pawnee and Washington counties. Your valuable input will contribute to the development of the public transportation plan for the region.

Cimarron Transit recently submitted a letter of intent to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Oklahoma Mobility and Public Transit Division to apply for Section 5311 federal assistance for the program year 2025. This assistance aims to support the operation of a rural public transit program in the areas of Bartlesville, Bristow, Cleveland, Dewey, Drumright, Kellyville, Mannford, Oilton, Pawhuska, Pawnee, Ponca City, Sapulpa and Skiatook.

Public comments play a crucial role in helping staff understand the challenges and concerns directly from the community. Public engagement fosters the exchange of ideas, enhances the rider experience and contributes to the overall betterment of the communities we serve. Cimarron Transit is dedicated to maintaining open communication to ensure our services align with public transit needs.

To facilitate this dialogue, virtual public transit forums have been scheduled on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. and Thursday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m. Additionally, Cimarron Transit will hold a public comment period extending until March 16 to allow ample time for feedback.
