Trash collection/ice storm update

January 22, 2024

NOTICE: UPDATED AT 4:45 P.M.

Sanitation crews were unable to access several residential areas when collecting trash on Monday. If you are a Monday customer and your trash was not picked up today, please leave your trash at its normal collection point for collection on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

The following City facilities will delay opening until 1 p.m. today due to hazardous road conditions:

  • City Hall, 401 S. Johnstone Ave.
  • Bartlesville Area History Museum, 401 S. Johnstone Ave.
  • Bartlesville Public Library, 600 S. Johnstone Ave.

City street crews have been out treating bridges and intersections since about midnight. However, as of 6:30 a.m., the roads are “super slick, especially in residential areas,” Public Works Director Keith Henry said.

“Some of the intersections are starting to thaw with more traffic, but travel should be avoided if possible,” he said.

Trash trucks will run today but will start late, Henry said.

“It should warm up later and start thawing everything so we’ll start late, but we will run today,” he said.

The City-owned recycle center, located at 10th Street and Virginia Avenue, will open late as well.

Also, downtown parking enforcement is suspended for the day.
