Water main leaks prompt lane closures on Tuxedo Boulevard

Jul 18, 2017

Lanes on Tuxedo Boulevard just west of U.S. Highway 75 continue to be closed due to water leaks in the area— one of which requires a special cement pipe that has been placed on specialty order, Water Utilities Director Red Miller said this week.

“We had two main breaks at that location a week ago last Monday, and one of them was directly under a storm water pipe,” Miller said. “We’ve had to special order a cement pipe before that one can be repaired, and we are still waiting for the pipe to come in.”
Miller said it is unknown how long that will take.
He said City crews will be on-site this week to pour concrete in the area of the second leak, located on the east side.

For now, the eastbound lanes of Tuxedo Boulevard are closed. However, east- and westbound traffic is permitted in the eastbound lanes.
