New playground installed at Price Fields

March 13, 2018

City of Bartlesville Parks Department crews recently completed the installation of the new playground at the Price Fields Complex, located north of Tuxedo Boulevard near Silver Lake Road.

The playground is funded in part thanks to a grant provided by the Bartlesville Community Foundation.

“The Bartlesville Community Foundation graciously provided $5,000 toward the purchase of this equipment,” said Grants Administrator Nancy Warring. “The funding came from the BCF’s 2016 Economic Development Fund.”

The cost of the entire project was $23,000.

According to Community Development Director Lisa Beeman, the playground has been planned for some time.

“This is a project that City Councilors, Park Board members, City staff and others involved in the planning phases of the Price Fields Complex Renovation project have been planning for several years,” Beeman said. “We’re very grateful to the Bartlesville Community Foundation for helping to make it a reality.”

Beeman said the playground is strategically located near the restrooms and the planned site of a temporary concession facility, which is currently under installation nearby.

“Our goal is to make it as easy as we can for parents or caregivers who may have older kids playing on the fields,” Beeman said. “Out-door seating is planned near the concession, located just east of the playground area, which will make it easier on those trying to keep an eye on the younger kids using the playground, and the rest rooms are nearby as well.”

Work on the concession facility is expected to wrap up soon, according to Parks Superintendent Bobby Robinson.

“We plan to have the concession up and ready to use by the start of baseball season or shortly after,” Robinson said.

The concession facility was donated to the City by Armstrong Bank.
