Projects prompt temporary lane, road closures downtown

Some lane and road closures will be required next week due to two projects currently underway in downtown Bartlesville.

Keeler Avenue

All lanes of Keeler Avenue between Adams Boulevard and Sixth Street will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, July 25, to accommodate work on the Public Safety Complex currently under construction near Adams Boulevard and Johnstone Avenue.

City crews are working on water lines in the area to provide water and fire service to the new complex. It is anticipated Keeler Avenue will re-open on Tuesday or Wednesday. Vehicles that normally park in the reserved parking lot in the area will be able to park as usual, project officials said.

The outside, westbound lane of Adams Boulevard is currently closed for this project but is expected to re-open Monday afternoon.

Cherokee Avenue

Cherokee Avenue between Ninth Street and 12th Street will be closed starting Tuesday, July 26, through Thursday, July 28, to facilitate water line improvements on-going in the area.

Traffic will be detoured to Osage Avenue during this closure.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.
